Het college van B&W van Den Haag heeft op 28 oktober 2020 antwoorden gepubliceerd op vragen van de gemeenteraad. De uitkomst was dat het college geen draagvlak ziet om verder mee te werken aan de voorgestelde ontwikkeling!

Buurtbewoners en gebruikers van Sunny Court hebben de gemeente gevraagt hun petitie van 2020 in acht te nemen voor toekomstige plannen.

Save Sunny Court Park: a petition for green spaces and against additional building. In 2020, the neighbors collected 2,615 signatures, and the construction plan proposed for Groot Sunny Court did not go ahead. 

On 28 October, 2020, the Hague Municipal Executive published answers to questions from the city council. It was determined by the college that there is no support for the proposed development and therefore no need to work with the developer on that plan. Local residents and users of Sunny Court have asked the municipality to comply with the objective of the 2020 petition for future plans.

• Dat de bouwplannen te negatieve gevolgen hebben voor de natuur en de rust in Sunny Court.
• Dat de leefbaarheid van omwonenden drastisch verslechtert.
• Dat oude bomen in Obrechthof worden gekapt.
• Dat het bouwvolume van de nieuwbouw meer dan verdubbelt ten opzichte van het bestaande volume > natuur wordt ingeruild voor steen.
• Dat de hittestress in dit dichtbebouwde stuk zal toenemen en dat de gemeentediensten welwillend tegenover dit plan lijken te staan (help!).

Local residents and users of Sunny Court and advocates of greenery and liveability in The Hague observe

That the building plans have too negative an impact on nature and tranquillity in Sunny Court.
That the quality of life for local residents will drastically deteriorate.
That old trees in Obrechthof will be cut down.
That the construction volume of the new building will more than double the existing volume > nature will be exchanged for stone.
That heat stress will increase in this densely built-up area and that the municipal authorities seem to be sympathetic to this plan (help!).
